Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda in a large bowl, mix well. Rub butter into flour mix until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add buttermilk and mix until just combined.
Put dough onto a floured board and gently press or roll out to 2 ½ cm thick. Cut with a cutter and place slightly separated onto a greased baking tray. Brush tops with a little buttermilk.
Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve with Double Cream and Hanks Strawberry Jam.
